Return to She

A Four Night Women’s Retreat in the Lake District

20–24 September 2027

Yewfield, Hawkshead Hill

Four nights away from the noise and demands of everyday life.

Return to She is a women-only residential retreat in the Lake District, bringing together movement, ceremony, sound, nature, beautiful food and space to simply be.

For four nights, Yewfield becomes our home.
Set within 80 acres of beautiful Lake District countryside, there’ll be mornings moving together, walks through the grounds, time around the table, evenings gathered in ceremony and sound, and plenty of space in between to rest, explore or simply enjoy being away.

And right at the heart of our time together is the Autumn Equinox.

A moment of balance, transition and the turning of the season.

The Retreat

Our days won’t be packed from morning until night.
There’ll be a carefully held programme across our four nights together, with space around the sessions to rest, explore Yewfield and enjoy being away.

Nothing is compulsory. The invitation is to experience the retreat as a whole, while still listening to what you need on the day. If that means missing a session for a nap, a walk or simply some time to yourself, that’s absolutely fine.

Autumn Equinox

Thursday 23 September falls on the Autumn Equinox and will form the ceremonial heart of Return to She.
We’ll gather for an Autumn Equinox Shamanic Ceremony with drumming, with the option to work with Hapé, followed by sacred anointing and a full sound immersion.
A day woven around balance, transition and the turning of the season.

Movement at Return to She

My yoga style is very much about how the body feels rather than how a pose looks.
I weave together Hatha, somatic movement and Yin, with slower, intuitive movement, breath, stillness and plenty of time to notice what is happening in your own body.
My Yin is almost entirely floor based and supported with props, giving the body time to soften rather than forcing it into a shape.
We’ll also begin our mornings with Qigong, moving slowly, grounding into the body and starting the day together.
You don’t need to be flexible or experienced. Everything can be adapted, and there’s never any pressure to keep up or move in a certain way.

Our Home in the Lakes

Yewfield sits within 80 acres of beautiful Lake District countryside at Hawkshead Hill.
There’ll be plenty of opportunity to get outside during our stay, whether that’s walking together, exploring the grounds or finding somewhere quiet to sit for a while.

Your retreat includes four nights’ accommodation and full board.
Each morning begins with a hot and cold buffet breakfast. Lunch is freshly prepared each day, and in the evenings we’ll sit down together for a two-course dinner.
All meals at Yewfield are vegetarian, and other dietary requirements can be catered for with advance notice.
There are also unlimited self-serve teas and coffees throughout your stay.
